About Us
Zoe, a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Honours (Psychology), and Annemarie, the newly appointed Head Coach for the Team Australia Adaptive Abilities team for 2025/2026, bring a unique combination of expertise to Cosmic Empire. With over 8 years of experience working together in the cheerleading industry, they have seamlessly blended business management, coaching, and psychology to create a gym that prioritises not just athletic excellence, but holistic personal development.
Zoe's background in psychology, particularly in supporting individuals with additional needs, and Anne's expertise in coaching have jointly informed the inclusive and empowering environment at Cosmic Empire. Together, their combined skills ensure that the gym is a space where athletes of all abilities can thrive, both on and off the competition floor. Whether athletes are neurotypical or have additional needs, Zoe’s knowledge in mental health and disability advocacy, alongside Anne’s leadership in coaching, shapes tailored programs that promote self-confidence, resilience, and personal growth.
Cosmic Empire was founded with a vision to create more than just a competitive cheerleading and dance club. Zoe and Anne are committed to fostering an environment where athletes develop vital life skills such as sportsmanship, teamwork, and perseverance. The gym's focus on inclusion means every athlete, whether training for one hour or ten, is held to the same high standards of dedication, respect, and skill development.
Since its inception, Cosmic Empire has enjoyed tremendous success. In their early years, the gym earned prestigious accolades such as AASCF's Top Tier Small Gym for Levels 1 and 2 in 2018, and 3rd Top Tier Small Gym for Level 1 in 2019. Their teams have consistently qualified for elite competitions like AASCF's Pinnacle, The Summit, and The Open. In 2022, the Junior 2 team placed 2nd nationally at the AASCF Nationals, and in 2023, the All-Abilities Hip Hop team, Shooting Stars, claimed the Grand Champion title at the National CheerCon event.
As Cosmic Empire continues to grow, Zoe and Anne remain committed to their mission: empowering athletes of all abilities through inclusion, friendship, and personal growth. With a strong foundation in psychology and disability advocacy, they are dedicated to developing well-rounded athletes who thrive in both sport and life.
